     There are a couple ways you can get free cable, first you will need a computer that is connected to the internet, and you obviously will need a tv. Most new computers and laptops will have an S-Video connection. This is a small circular fitting; your tv will have this too. Figure out how long an S-Video cable is needed to connect your computer to your tv. You can purchase the cable at any electronics store or on the internet, these are extremely inexpensive.

     Now connect the S-Video to both the tv and the computer, make sure they are securely connected.

     Next, go to your display setting on your computer, if you are on a PC you do this by right-clicking on the background, and select personalize, or display settings. Follow the instructions to add another monitor.

     You should now be seeing the background of your computer on your tv. Load up an internet browser, and go to the website hulu.com. This has many current free cable tv shows. You can also go to the network directly, such as abc.com or cnn.com, you can find many free cable tv shows there as well.

     Another option is setting up Slingbox. This is a device that costs around $300, you hook it up to the internet and a cable box at a friend or parents house. You can then log on and watch that cable box for free.

     Finally, to get the sound on your tv or stereo, you will need a simple headphone adapter. On one end will be the plug for the headphone jack on your computer, and on the other end will be a red and a white audio plug, which can be plugged in next to your S-Video on your tv. You're all set, you can now watch your cable tv for free; enjoy!
